Simplifying Compliance

Let’s be honest—hemp laws feel like they’re changing by the minute, and figuring out what’s compliant and what’s not can be tricky. But at Hemp Lab NYC, we’re here to make things as clear and easy as possible. We understand that regulators and compliance agencies have the critical job of keeping the community safe, and we want to help. That’s why we’ve implemented an additional internal compliance verification process, designed with extra care to make compliance simple and transparent—for everyone involved.

Step 1: COA Review

All hemp products must be independently tested by a third party lab in order to confirm that the product is compliant with federal hemp regulations. In order to be compliant with local and federal regulations, a hemp product may not have more than .3% Delta 9 THC. All Certificate of Analysis (COAS) must show the correct Delta 9 THC concentrations. Verifying and maintaining a record of a products COA is always the first step taken when we are considering new product offerings.

We ensure that any product is compliant and any cannabinoid contents are fully hemp-derived. .

Step 2: Label Verification

A COA will ensure a Hemp product is Federally compliant, but different regions and jurisdictions have their own additional requirements as well. New York State’s has its own unique regulations. This is in order to protect consumers and prevent confusion during its new historic legalization initiative of adult use marijuana.

New York State Regulatory agencies have provided clear labeling guidelines in the form of an easy to use cross reference checklist for easy in State compliance identification. We cross-reference every label against the official NY State Labeling Checklist to make sure all necessary information is displayed and accurate. These labeling requirements are essential for compliance enforcement officers when determining product compliance and safety standards.

Step 3: Added Assurance

Once the COA and label are verified, we can now add our own verified label to the product and accept it into our inventory. This label is our  internal method of ensuring that the products we are carrying have been extensively vetted for safety and compliance. While this is not required by any regulations or guidelines, it makes it easier to track the compliance and handling of our inventory. This added step helps us keep our products compliant with current and local guidelines and also ensures that our products will be easily identifiable and transparent to both customers and regulatory compliance officials.
